The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the Dormitory Authority of New York State (DASNY) have recently unveiled two Requests for Applications (RFAs) under the latest phases of the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program (SHCFTP IV & V). These RFAs present an opportunity for healthcare organizations in New York to advance their services and infrastructure.
The first RFA (#20258), titled “Health Information Technology (HIT), Cybersecurity, and Telehealth Transformation,” focuses on funding projects that enhance electronic health records, cybersecurity, health management tools, and telehealth services. This RFA addresses the growing need for advanced technology in healthcare to ensure efficient and secure patient care.
The second RFA (#20244), “Capital Projects and Debt Retirement/Restructuring,” is dedicated to allocating up to $250 million for capital projects, debt retirement, or restructuring efforts. These funds are aimed at supporting healthcare facilities in their transformation, redesign, or strengthening processes to offer innovative, patient-centered care models, increase access, improve quality, and ensure financial sustainability.
Eligibility for these RFAs extends to a range of healthcare providers in New York State, including those with operating certificates for Article 7, 16, 28, 31, 32, 36, or 40 provider organizations, and primary care providers with a New York State Medical License. Additionally, the Capital and Debt RFA (#20244) is open to local governmental units offering services under Article 41 of the NYS Mental Hygiene Law.
